With winter behind us and spring coming to an end, the summer energy reigns supreme as we welcome the long days, warm nights and endless ways to enjoy everything Chicago has to offer. Kicking off the summer vibes for the 3rd year in a row, Mamby on the Beach takes festival going to a new level yet again as Chicago’s only beachside fest. Musically eclectic and experientially unparalleled, Mamby is set to the backdrop of the City’s iconic skyline from the sandy shores of Oakwood Beach on June 24th & 25th.

With 2 stages and headliners like MGMT, Marian Hill, Flying Lotus, Thundercat and Sángo, it’s easy to see why this festival has grown so quickly over the last 3 years. Whether sandy-footed at the Beach Stage or lounging in the lush grasses of the Park Stage, festival goers are sure to enjoy the diverse sounds of internationally beloved artists.

Mamby’s big names may draw the attention, but it’s the local love that piques my interest. Most notably is the celebration of Chicago legend and electronic pioneer, Green Velvet and the 25-year anniversary of his record label, Relief Records. You can find him and his personally curated artist selection at the Mixmag tent; that list includes the electronic stylings of Justin Martin, MK, Lee Foss and Relief Record’s own, LATMUN.

Joining Green Velvet in celebrating Chicago’s diverse sound is our very own Edamame who will be bringing his ethereal float music beachside on Saturday the 24th. Not to be missed, check out his latest below.

Adding to the local love, you’ll also find leading Chicago musicians like BJ the Chicago Kid, Ravyn Lenae, and Sir the Baptist taking the stage throughout the sun soaked weekend. Partnered with Young Chicago Authors, Mamby is going beyond the music with live poetry by Louder than a Bomb feat. The Bomb Squad.

Dubbed Chicago’s most unique music festival, Mamby offers festival goers more than sundrenched days, music and performances. Beach friendly activities include the Beach Battle Royale Water fight and beach volleyball. While there, take a break to enjoy a variety of sculptures, art installations and live painting by Chicago artist, Afrokilla.

Other activations include yoga sessions, henna art, tarot and palm readings, and health and wellness workshops. Be sure to check out the Body Art Dome to enhance your festival look with airbrushed art and metallic body tattoos, and don’t miss out the Braid Bar for your perfect weekend beachside ‘do.

Welcome the summer with Mamby on the Beach on the shores of Lake Michigan with great music, local love, eye-candy art and an unbeatable vibe.
